"Nature literally has the power to heal. By slowing down and letting yourself notice the smell, sound and fell of nature, you become present, aware, and often experience less stress. You become unbusy."
– Lettie Stratton

It seems every week I find a new book or podcast that happens to tell me exactly what I needed to hear in the moment. Although there is no equal substitute for in-person coaching/mentoring, we’re incredibly fortunate to live in a time where amazing resources are readily available to us, just a click away. We are given the opportunity to expand our minds, strengthen our knowledge and find peace in our hearts. It’d be a shame to waste that.

I’ve made a list of some of my favorite books and podcasts, each of which spoke deeply to me and enlightened me at a time when I needed it most. If you love to read or listen to podcasts, I know you will love these. If you’re not keen on reading or podcasts, I encourage you to pick one of these and give it a try. Find a quiet, comfortable space to read or listen. Enjoy learning from these people and embrace the stories they tell and the lessons they’ve learned.

Dr. Brené Brown, a research professor and thought leader on vulnerability, courage, worthiness, and shame, shares ten guideposts on the power of Wholehearted living—a way of engaging with the world from a place of worthiness. All her books are a must read, but if I had to pick only one, it’d be The Gifts of Imperfection.

This is a great book, and I think it’s even better as an audiobook. It’s narrated by Matthew McConaughey himself. Don’t assume this is just another celebrity’s dull biography. This book has a ton of valuable lessons to share.

Nothing is held back in these podcasts. If you’re a straight-to-the-point person and you appreciate people who say it like it is without sugarcoating, this is for you. There is graphic vocabulary/content in most episodes, but if you’re open to it, you’ll learn all about the attitude and actions you need to take to become your best self.
